Coupons and Deals Now Available

We have launched a new Coupons and Deals section of the web site. Even more exciting, the coupons and deals are also in RSS format which means that the coupons and deals are delivered right into the Do Good Toolbar. We are really excited about this new feature: Now, you can shop online, save money by using coupons and deals, and raise money for charity at the same time. And, it is still free. In fact, it is better then free since when you use our coupons, you are actually saving money!

A Great Week

So, this has been a really great week for the Do Good Toolbar. We have had a really warm reception from all the folks over at MySpace and we also are now listed on Zaadz.com , Change.org , and Twitter.

We have received a lot of great feedback over the last week. We hope to be making some changes soon: We started in on a new site layout and eventually we will be doing a whole site redesign.

One of the big new changes will be that we will be opening up a nominating and voting system for charities. So, please stay tuned for that.

Also, we will soon have a blog and RSS feed just for coupons and deals that when you use them, you will be raising money for charity. So, you can actually SAVE money and raise money for charity at the same time.

1. Doctors Without Borders, USA 2. Mercy Corps 3. The Humane Society of the United States . 4. The Robin Hood Foundation, 5. Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (Helping in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina).

Just to reiterate, and to avoid any confusion, the DoGoodToolbar.com is not affiliated with these charities in any way. We simple send checks to charities based on total revenue generated by the Toolbar.

We are working on updating our MySpace page and putting together some YouTube videos.

The MySpace page should be completely done by the end of the week. The YouTube videos might take a little longer. We are really excited about them. Stay tuned.

The Do Good Toolbar is Born!

Hi: Thanks for checking in. We launched this site on Monday, February 5, 2007 . We are very excited, motivated, and inspired to harness the power of the Internet to help others.

For those wondering what we are doing. It is really very simple:

Merchants pay us a commission when you click on a link in the toolbar and buy something. For example, at JewelryTelevision.com, 4% of your purchase price gets donated to charity. We receive a portion of the revenue to help with operating costs, toolbar and software development, administrative expenses, as well as employee and contractor expenses. At least 50% of revenues will be donated to charity. Our goal, once we reach sufficient volume, is to donate over 90% of revenues to charity. Without naming names, other similar sites donate as little as 10% of their profit to charity.

So, why did we do this?

We were listening to NPR one day and heard a show on the topic of social entrepreneurship. The show was about how we can use capitalism and business in order to benefit the lives of others. The radio show was motivating and it made us passionate about harnessing the power of the Internet in order to help others online.

On the radio show, they called 2007 the "Year of Doing Good". That's how the Do Good^TM Toolbar was born. We hope that just by shopping online, you can Do Good^TM , at no extra cost to you. Think about it: Just by doing what you normally do, shopping online, you can help other people and Do Good^TM in the world.

If there is one thing that *you* can do. It is to help spread the word. Link to us, email your friends, or Add Us As Your MySpace Friend.

The Do Good Toolbar is growing, but we need your help.

We are adding more merchants all the time and always adding new features to the Toolbar.
